Welcome to Uncommitted
A project journal for works in progress. Building in public, finishing optional.
This is Uncommitted. A project journal for things that might ship someday.
The name works on two levels. There's the git meaning: changes that exist but haven't been committed yet. And there's the personal meaning: I start a lot of projects. Most of them never get finished.
Both are true here.
What this place is for
Uncommitted is where I document projects in progress. Not polished case studies or tidy retrospectives. Just raw notes from the middle of the work, when nothing is certain and everything might change.
You'll find:
- Project logs and progress updates
- Technical notes and half-formed ideas
- Lessons from things that didn't work out
- Occasional fragments that don't fit anywhere else
Why public?
Partly accountability. It's harder to abandon something completely when there's a record of it existing.
Partly documentation. Future me will appreciate having notes.
Mostly because building in public is interesting, even when (especially when) things don't work out.
No promises
Some projects here will ship. Most won't. That's not failure; that's how creative work goes. The value is in the doing, not just the done.
If something here is useful to you, great. If not, that's fine too. This is primarily for me. You're welcome to follow along.
